THE BARBER AND HIS CUSTOMER

Have you heard the story of the skeptical barber and the insightful customer?

There was a barber who didn't believe that God exist. One day a man came to him as his customer for a hair cut. They started a conversation until they reached on the topic of God. The man asked the barber 'why doesn't he believe in God.'

The barber replied that if God existed there wouldn't be any sick or orphan children in the world, and the world would be free from all kinds of pain and suffering. Everyone would be happy.

The man didn't want to start an argument so he dropped the topic but when he came out of the shop, he noticed a person with long dirty hair and untidy beard. The man went into the shop and exclaimed that barbers did not exist. The barber argued back saying he himself is a barber.

The man said that it can't be possible as many men are there in this world who have long and untidy hair. He pointed towards the man passing outside of the door. The barber explained that barbers do exist, just that all the people don't come to him. The man applied the same concept and explained the existence of God.

LESSON: This story demonstrates that just as a barber can only help those who seek out his services, the existence of people with untidy hair does not imply that barbers do not exist. In the same way, the presence of pain, suffering, and injustice in the world does not prove the absence of God. Instead, it emphasizes the need for individuals to seek God actively. Suffering and challenges are part of the human experience, but they provide an opportunity for us to reach out to God for support, guidance, and comfort.

This story teaches us that belief in God is not about the absence of difficulties but about turning to Him for help and understanding in times of need. It encourages us to seek a personal relationship with God, much like one would seek the services of a barber, to experience the true benefits of faith.

God exist, and everyone has problems believing that, but if you explain to them the way they would understand they will believe.
